Proposal to the Angelina College Board of Trustees

In accordance with the college's academic standards and recognizing the exceptional performance of our students, and in alignment with Policy EGB Local, we propose awarding graduation honors based on students' Grade Point Averages (GPA). The honors will be designated as follows: 

GPA                                     Honor

3.9 – 4.0                             Summa Cum Laude

3.7 – 3.89                           Magna Cum Laude

3.5 – 3.69                           Cum Laude

This system not only acknowledges the rigorous academic achievements of our students but also aligns with our commitment to celebrating excellence within our programs. We recommend the board's approval of this honors designation to appropriately recognize our students' outstanding scholarly accomplishments.

The Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for reviewing and updating this regulation. Policy reviews are made in accordance with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness Policy Tracking document.
