INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES
1.01 Textbooks
Textbooks should remain in use for a minimum of two years to minimize costs for students. Any textbook changes must be planned at least 60 days in advance of use, in accordance with the published dates on the Educational Programs Advisory Council calendar of activities.
When a textbook change is desired, the following procedures must be followed:
1. Textbook Adoption Submission
All textbook, workbook, and required material adoptions must be submitted through the textbook online adoption system by the academic schools or for non-credit classes by Workforce and Continuing Education.
2. Changes After the Adoption Deadline
Any changes requested after the established adoption deadline must be coordinated with both the bookstore liaison and the dean of the academic school (for credit classes) or the Chair of Workforce Education (for non-credit classes).
1.02 Instructional Supplies
All instructional supplies, other than textbooks, must be requisitioned through the Business Office in compliance with established purchasing procedures.
· Direct Sale of Materials
Instructors may not sell materials directly to student
· Cost Management
Supply costs should be kept to a minimum for each student. Required supplies must be clearly listed on the course syllabus.
· Purchasing Policies
All purchasing policies issued by the Business Office must be followed. [See CF(LOCAL)]
· Instructor-Prepared Materials
Instructor-prepared materials intended for sale through the bookstore must receive prior approval from the dean of the academic school (credit classes) or the Chair of Workforce Education (non-credit classes).
The Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for reviewing and updating this regulation. Policy reviews are made in accordance with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness Policy Tracking document.
