EAA REGULATION

ACADEMIC CATALOG PUBLICATION, REVISION, AND VALIDATION PERIOD


SECTION ONE: PURPOSE, ALIGNMENT, IMPLEMENTATION, AND ENFORCEMENT

1.01 The purpose of this regulation is to outline the process and procedure for revising and publishing the official College catalog and to outline the timeframe for catalog use.

1.02 This regulation aligns with SACSCOC Standards 9.7 and 10.3. which requires the institution to publish requirements for its undergraduate programs and that the requirements conform to commonly accepted standards and practices for degree programs.

1.03 Implementation and enforcement of this regulation is the responsibility of the Vice President of Academic Affairs.

SECTION TWO: PUBLICATION

2.01 The Office of Institutional Effectiveness is responsible for the publication and maintenance of the catalog each year.

2.02 The catalog for the upcoming academic year is published prior to the Spring commencement of the preceding academic year. The deadline to submit requests for additions or changes to the catalog is set each year by the Office of Institutional Effectiveness. 

SECTION THREE: REVISIONS

3.01 The creation, elimination, or other modification of programs, courses, or degree requirements, or any other curricular changes approved through the Curriculum Committee prior to February will be included in the catalog for the upcoming academic year, provided any requirements under the Substantive Change Policy have been met.

3.02 Creation, elimination, or other modification of programs, courses, or degree requirements submitted after the publication date are subject to approval by the Vice President of Academic Affairs and will be published as an addendum. 

3.03 Changes to the catalog are not permitted after the publication date, with the following exceptions:

  • Correction of typographical error

  • Error in graphics

  • Error in employee name or title

  • Change to a division structure

  • State or program accreditor requirement updates

  • Changes approved by the President or their designee

3.04 The dean of each school is responsible for ensuring information in the catalog is correct, current, and reviewed by the appropriate faculty each year.

3.05 Department directors are responsible for ensuring information about their department is correct, including contact information, office location, services offered, and relevant process information.

SECTION FOUR: ARCHIVES

4.01 The Registrar is responsible for archiving the catalog. Digital archives are available beginning with the 2014-15 academic year. Prior printed academic catalogs are available for review through the registrar’s office: registrar@angelina.edu.

4.02 The College complies with Texas Administrative Code Title 13, Chapter 6, “Records Retention Scheduling Rules.”

SECTION FIVE: VALIDATION PERIOD

5.01 Catalogs are valid for five years from their applicable academic year.

5.01.01 Students must be enrolled continuously, with a break in enrollment of no more than one year, to continue enrollment in a past degree program.

5.01.02 A student who has a break of enrollment of more than one semester during fall or spring will be enrolled in the most recent applicable program upon re-enrollment. 


The Vice President of Academic Affairs is responsible for reviewing and updating this regulation. Policy reviews are made in accordance with the Office of Institutional Effectiveness Policy Tracking document.
